Happy Thanksgiving week!  We have a 2 day week with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off.  There will be no Homework Packets and no Spelling words.  Remember our Zoo Field Trip is already next Friday!  I need money and permission slips in, I also need to know if you will be chaperoning.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday off, and I am thankful for everyone one of your amazing children!

Ms. Dunbar's Classroom Newsletter!

I just want to thank all the parents who scheduled teacher/parent conferences with me last week.  I hope you all feel like you questions or concerns were answered.  If not, feel free to email me.  We will be going to the Pumpkin Patch a Reid Park this Thursday (10/18)  so I will need your permission slips and money!  We have many parent volunteers so far, so I think it's going to be a great Field Trip!  Thanks for all your participation and help.

Welcome Back!  I hope you all had a wonderful Fall Break!  We are in full swing for our next quarter.  Here are some reminders:

*Our Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch and Reid Park is next Thursday the 18th.  I still need many Permission Slips in still!
*Our Harvest Festival is the 26th!  Come visit us at the Jumping Castle!
*Halloween is on a Wednesday this year.  We will be having a party this day, and if you can bring any goodies that would be great!  All other information can be found in my Newsletter.

Ms. Dunbar's 2nd Grade Class!!!

I want to thank you all for helping us with our Stone Soup!  It was delicious and the kids really enjoyed it!  Thank you so much for bringing in all the ingredients.  Special thanks to Sierra's mom for bringing in scissors!  We still need more, so if anyone is able to donate children's scissors it would be very helpful.  We have 2 more weeks until Report Cards will go out on September 28th.  Conferences will be held the week after Fall Break.  Sign up times will be on my door (room 305) starting September 24th.  Please make sure you sign up for a conference, I need to make sure I meet with everyone!

Ms. Dunbar's Ocean Class! 2nd Grade!

Our class did great cooperating with the Monday and Tuesday Galileo Testing for Reading and Math.  Our results show that we really need to work on our Reading!  Please make sure that your child is reading at home and you are reading aloud to your child and make sure they understand what they are reading.  We will be doing the same in class.  We have our Spelling Test tomorrow and our Homework Packets are also due tomorrow.  Our first football game is today at 4:30, we hope to see you there.  We also have skate night tonight!  Please email me at sldunbar@email.arizona.edu if you have any questions about anything!

Ms. Dunbar's 2nd Grade Blog!

Ms. Dunbar's 2nd Grade Class!

We will have no school on Friday and Monday, due to Easter Break!  I hope everyone has a great break!  When we come back we will have one week, and then Standford 10 Testing!  We have been practicing, but make sure you are going over test taking tips with your children.  Have them eat a healthy breakfast and bring healthy snacks for breaks!

Happy almost Spring Break!

We will not be having any Spelling Words or Homework Packet due to this short week.  Tuesday is our last day of school and there will be a half day with no Afterschool.  Report Cards will go out this day.  Your child's Desert Animal Reports are included on this report card, and are the main portion of their Social Studies grade.  I wish you all a perfect Spring Break:)

Classroom Books!
Your children are authors!  We are almost finished with our short stories pertaining to "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." You will be able to purchase these books from the company we are sending them to.  They will be bound and made into a hard copy.  I will be sending home all the information and payment forms in our Monday folders on 3/12/12.  Please make sure you are checking your children's folders everyday, becuase there is usually important information in them or graded work.  Thanks!

FIELD TRIP TO THE DESERT MUSEUM!

Hello!  I need EVERYONE to turn in their permission slips and money for our Field Trip by Friday!  If you would like to chaperone, please be prepared to be in charge of a group of 4 kids.  You will need to drive yourself because we will have limited seating.  We will be having lunch at Reid Park afterwards!  A sack lunch is maditory!
