Ms. Dunbar's 2nd Grade Class!

Hello!  I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far, with much more to come.

We had a great field trip to the Pumpkin Patch, and everyone had a lot of fun.  Thanks so much to Mr. David and Mrs. Mai for helping out!  You both were such a great help.  Harvest Fest was a huge success, and we had a great outcome and a lot of fun!

*A couple things coming up...
-Our Thanksgiving Feast is right around the corner.  Second Grade is in charge of Potatoes!  If you are willing to cook Potatoes (mashed, sweet, or whatever you prefer) please let me know, so I can get a count of how many batches our class is going to be able to offer.
- Veteran's Day is this Thursday, we will not have school. We will be learning about Veteran's Day all week this week.
-Progress Reports will go out this Friday.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about your child's grade, or if you would like to set up a parent-teacher conference.
-Homework outcome was not so great this Friday, many students did not get to participate in Friday Fun Day.  Please help your child rememeber to do their homework and read everynight.  Remember it is due Friday morning.  Many students were trying to finish it during class.  These packets are a large part of their Homework grade, as well as their Responsibility Grade.
-Congrats to Jesus, who was chosen as our Character Count ticket winner of the month for having the most Character Count tickets.
-Great job to Gabriela, who was chosen as our Character Trait winner for RESPECT!
-This months Character Trait is Responsibility.

Thanks so much!  Remember, you can contact me at sldunbar@email.arizona.edu!

Thank you to everyone who has already brought food for our Stone Soup we will be making on Friday.  The kids are very excited about it!
-Please encourage your children to remember their folders everyday, and make sure you check them everyday when they get home.  There may be important notes or information in them that you will need to see!  There is also graded work in these folders so you can check up on how your child is doing on their class work.
-We have a Spelling Test on Friday!
-Our Homework Packets are also due on Friday. (Your child may not participate in Friday Fun Day if their Homework Packet is not turned in or incomplete).
-I appreciate all of the Parent Notice forms I recieved back signed for your child's August Assessment.  I hope you got a chance to look over the assessment to see how your child is doing.  If you are concerned with your child's score and would like to set up a conference please let me know.
