Ms. Dunbar's 2nd Grade Classroom!!!

We are already in our 3rd quarter!  Progress Reports went home last week, only to students who are failing subject areas.  If you did not receive one, please let me know if you would like to check up on your student's grades before Report Cards come out mid March. 
***This week is Rodeo week!  We have Thursday and Friday off. 
***There will be no Spelling Words or Homework Packets this week.  We will have reading 30 minutes a night due on Wednesday.
***Grandparent's Day is Wednesday!  Grandparents are welcome to come into the classroom and go eat lunch with their grandchild (if they signed up)  Have a great week and a happy Rodeo vacation!

Ms. Dunbar's Second Grade Class!

Happy Thanksgiving week!  We have a 2 day week with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off.  There will be no Homework Packets and no Spelling words.  Remember our Zoo Field Trip is already next Friday!  I need money and permission slips in, I also need to know if you will be chaperoning.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday off, and I am thankful for everyone one of your amazing children!

We are planning a Field Trip to the Reid Park Zoo!  Details will go home tomorrow.  Please make sure you are checking your child's folder every night for important notes and information from the school and I.  Monday, November 12th is Veteran's Day with NO SCHOOL!

Ms. Dunbar's Classroom Newsletter!

I just want to thank all the parents who scheduled teacher/parent conferences with me last week.  I hope you all feel like you questions or concerns were answered.  If not, feel free to email me.  We will be going to the Pumpkin Patch a Reid Park this Thursday (10/18)  so I will need your permission slips and money!  We have many parent volunteers so far, so I think it's going to be a great Field Trip!  Thanks for all your participation and help.

Welcome Back!  I hope you all had a wonderful Fall Break!  We are in full swing for our next quarter.  Here are some reminders:

*Our Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch and Reid Park is next Thursday the 18th.  I still need many Permission Slips in still!
*Our Harvest Festival is the 26th!  Come visit us at the Jumping Castle!
*Halloween is on a Wednesday this year.  We will be having a party this day, and if you can bring any goodies that would be great!  All other information can be found in my Newsletter.

Ms. Dunbar's 2nd Grade Class!!!

I want to thank you all for helping us with our Stone Soup!  It was delicious and the kids really enjoyed it!  Thank you so much for bringing in all the ingredients.  Special thanks to Sierra's mom for bringing in scissors!  We still need more, so if anyone is able to donate children's scissors it would be very helpful.  We have 2 more weeks until Report Cards will go out on September 28th.  Conferences will be held the week after Fall Break.  Sign up times will be on my door (room 305) starting September 24th.  Please make sure you sign up for a conference, I need to make sure I meet with everyone!

Ms. Dunbar's Ocean Class! 2nd Grade!

Our class did great cooperating with the Monday and Tuesday Galileo Testing for Reading and Math.  Our results show that we really need to work on our Reading!  Please make sure that your child is reading at home and you are reading aloud to your child and make sure they understand what they are reading.  We will be doing the same in class.  We have our Spelling Test tomorrow and our Homework Packets are also due tomorrow.  Our first football game is today at 4:30, we hope to see you there.  We also have skate night tonight!  Please email me at sldunbar@email.arizona.edu if you have any questions about anything!
